(literally, my kids thought they were candy) But after doing some research into the side effects of the most common ingredients found in over the counter cold medicines, we started trying natural cough remedies instead.

- 1 inch chunk ginger root, peeled and chopped or 1 teaspoon dried ginger
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon organic ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon organic ground cloves or 4 whole cloves
