Learn how to make a simple homemade orange peel cleaner. This all purpose cleaning spray is a great all natural replacement for chemical filled commercial products.

I kind of feel guilty just throwing the peels away when I go to eat an orange because they really make the best multi-purpose cleaning spray that I find myself reaching for almost every day!
It seems almost too easy to make a natural cleaner using just leftover orange peels and white vinegar, but cleaning doesn’t need to be as complicated as we like to make it!

what you need to make orange peel cleaning spray:
- Orange Peels – It took about 4 oranges worth of peels to fill a quart sized jar.
- Vinegar – Just plain old distilled white vinegar: the most versatile cleaning product there is!
- Mason Jar – A quart sized jar and lid.
- Spray Bottle – You can use any empty spray bottle you have on hand. I prefer to use glass bottles for my homemade cleaning sprays.
how to a make cleaning spray with orange peels:
Peel – Peel 3-4 oranges, or enough to fill a quart sized jar to the top. Try to get as little of the white part of the peel as possible because it can “gunk up” your solution.
Pour Vinegar Over Peels – Top off the jar with vinegar, replace the jar lid, and give it a good shake.

Let It Sit – Place the jar of peels and vinegar in a dark place for 2-3 weeks, giving it a good shake from time to time if you think about it.
Filter – Strain out the peels from the vinegar using a tea towel or cheesecloth.
Fill Spray Bottle – Use a funnel to pour your filtered orange peel cleaner into a spray bottle, filling it halfway, and diluting it by filling it the rest of the way with filtered water.
To Use – A couple of sprays to whatever surface you are wanting to clean is plenty. Just wipe the area with a clean rag or paper towel.
Substitution – Grapefruit or lemon peels can be used in place of oranges for a different citrus scent!
